Hm, I haven’t come across any covers that I’ve quite enjoyed as much as this one. There’s just something about her hushed voice from the beginning that is rather haunting. It’s as if the tapered quality of her voice makes you lean in closer to catch the final faint words of each line. She seems to whisper the song to you and the affect is both intimate and embalming.
It might be the tenderness of her voice at 2 in the morning or it might be because I’m a sucker for red hair, who knows. Goodnight.
